February is traditionally the time of ToyFair – and whilst we have seen plenty of Jurassic World Dominion merchandise already debuted by both LEGO and Mattel, there was also a new addition to the Jurassic Park roster in the form of a brand-new line from Funko revealed during their Funko Fair 2022.
Pop! Movie Posters: Jurassic Park – Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptor is an interesting new format for the Funko line, which combines a classic movie poster in the form of the original Jurassic Park one-sheet, with a unique scene depicting the Tyrannosaurus Rex leaning down and attacking a Velociraptor in the climatic final moments we see in Isla Nublar’s Visitor Centre in the 1993 film.
As you can see in the closer look we’ve shared, the pack comes in a fantastic acrylic display case which lets the poster be protected whilst also display the included figures well. The Funko Team appear to have chosen a pose which gives you the best of both worlds – keeping the iconic Jurassic Park logo visible whilst also capturing the moments before the Tyrannosaurus Rex ultimately defeats the Velociraptor. It’s a fun reimagining of the sequence and it’s certainly a unique shelf display piece which has grown on us.
The item will be a Walmart Exclusive in the United States, and it is likely to be a Direct To Consumer exclusive in Europe via the Funko Europe website. The product is likely to be available from June 2022.
At seventeen inches tall and eleven inches wide, it’s bound to be a great addition to a shelf – so we can’t wait to see how Funko Collectors choose to display this new product.
