The Jurassic World 3 news keeps pouring out – as Collider confirmed today that two more characters will be returning from a previous film in the franchise. Jeff Sneider broke the news that two more recent additions to the franchise will once again return in the form of Jake Johnson’s Lowery, and Omar Sy’s Barry – two characters from the original Jurassic World film.

Whilst this news will not have fans as excited as the news of the original trio’s return, it is still exciting to see that more characters from past instalments of the franchise are being woven into the next entry in the series. Jake Johnson’s Lowery was of note within the first Jurassic World film – with his witty sense of humour making him a firm favourite with fans of the film. I think it’s safe to say that many people were upset when Lowery did not return in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, so his return here is bound to get many fans excited about the comic relief which he will not doubt bring into the third instalment.

Omar Sy’s return as Barry is also an interesting thing to note, as we know that he is a behavioural expert who worked with Owen on Project IBRIS during the days of Jurassic World. Barry is perhaps the second most qualified person to work with the Velociraptors behind Owen, so it will be interesting to see if the two end up working together once more to help analyse the behaviour of these animals now they are out in the world. We know that Blue went on her own way at the end of Fallen Kingdom, so is it possible that Owen recruits the help of his old friend to track her down and take her to safety? Only time will tell for sure.

With so many characters now set to return for the third instalment, it is safe to say that speculation is rife around the direction which the story may choose to take. We know that Fallen Kingdom saw the government engaging in debates around the nature of these animals – so could many of these returning characters be cameos within similar court room scenes, where the government are now debating how to respond to the impending dinosaur crisis? The recent string of Motion Comics from Jurassic World indicate that the dinosaurs are clearly becoming a problem for the world – so it makes sense to call on as many experienced people as possible to formulate a plan for tackling the situation.

What do you think of the news that these characters will return? Are you excited, or are you worried about the potential ramifications of packing so many characters into the story? We’d love to hear from you – so make sure to let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned here for more Jurassic World 3 news as we get it!
